Guest Love

We bought the ranch in June, 2008 and began renting the ranch for guest stays in 2011. It warms our hearts that people appreciate the ranch in ways that we do. Bonus for our family: we’ve made some very nice, new friends along the way. Below are some kind words they shared about their vacations taken from AirBNB and VRBO reviews.

We had an absolutely amazing time at your wonderful property! So many of our friends came from all over to celebrate with us, one, even coming in from Hawaii. Rancho de Vida was the perfect place! We wouldn’t change a thing- it was an absolute dream! We can’t thank you enough for allowing us to stay! We can not wait to come back. The kids especially loved Willie and Waylon!

“Perfect blend of fun and relaxing! We absolutely loved our time at Rancho De Vida and I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a country escape. While there, we spent a lot of our time swimming, going up to the hilltop to check out the gorgeous views, hiking to the creek, and relaxing under the huge trees. The dance stage was also a plus, giving us space for line-dances. We went in the heat of July (which I was a little worried about), but despite the climbing temperatures, the trees and nice breeze kept us outside almost the entire time!

We also loved being able to bring all our fur babies along for the fun, they had a blast running around. During our stay we opted to rent both the bunkhouse and the farmhouse, which added even more spaces to hang out. We felt like we had so many spaces to relax and so many different gathering areas! Another thing to note, everyone in our party commented on how comfortable the beds were, which is not always the case for rentals properties. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about Rancho de Vida. If you are looking for the perfect blend of fun and relaxing country living, this is the place for you!”

What an experience!! My family of six needed a break from the city, and this was perfect.
So many amazing aspects that I can't begin to describe. I would love to come back with a larger group for a birthday celebration, reunion or otherwise. Fabulous!”

We stayed at MP's beautiful property for almost a week. The ranch was easy to find and we loved spending time in the sparkling pool, exploring the land, checking on the llamas and cattle on site, and even wading in the limestone creek (still running in July). We found the proximity to several towns (Blanco, Johnson City, Fredericksburg) really great for short trips and definitely recommend taking the dirty/rock road trip to Blanco to get Old 300 BBQ! Living space was comfortable and large enough for a big group (even though we are a small family), where everyone can spread out and have their own space. We would definitely love to come back someday! “

If I can rate it 10 stars I would. Communication with Mary Pat was so easy and she was beyond accommodating. We loved the home! The pool and the amazing sunset view were the biggest hit. I have already recommended this spot to several friends. We can’t wait to go back. Thank you, Mary Pat, for hosting our 2021 friendcation.”

Fourth Stay---Still Love It! We thoroughly enjoyed our fourth weekend at Rancho de Vida. It’s obvious that the owners have looked for ways to improve the property over the years and the experience is still a great one.”

The pictures don’t do the space justice. It is a beautiful, charming home on a ton of property in the heart of the hill country. There wasn’t much need to venture out to town, but the house is very close to a handful of wineries. We had a great time here; wish we had extended the stay by another day or two!

“Great friend vacay. Beautiful property and an excellent getaway for my friends and their pups. We mostly enjoyed cooking, swimming, and playing games while enjoying each other’s company 🥰”

“Lovely bucolic ranch. From the moment we entered the gate and drove past the fields of wildflowers we fell in love with this property. A perfect getaway and home base for exploring the beautiful hill country.”

“Our family of three generations spent the weekend at Rancho de Vida. What a special place! We all felt at home there…from little ones to teens and great grandparents. Fun, eclectic, simple décor made for a simply magical experience!  Rain kept us inside quite a bit but the house was very accommodating for our large family and fur babies. It truly has something to offer everyone. For me, it was space for quiet reflection of a simpler time, animals to admire and appreciate and a sense of the spirited adventurers who settled this land hundreds of years ago. I fell in love with Rancho de Vida. We all did!

“Great spot for a family getaway. Rancho de Vida is a beautiful house in the Texas Hill Country, far enough off the beaten path to see a sky full of stars, but situated between Johnson City and Fredericksburg so there are plenty of options for food, wineries and shopping. If you are looking for a comfortable spot to get away with family or friends, Rancho de Vida is the perfect place!”
